Trouble-shooting Windows

  1. It is possible that the installer was not completely downloaded. Usually, you are aware of this because the Download Complete did not appear. This means that you probably were disconnected from the Internet while you were downloading.

First check that the installer file is about 2.2 MB (plus or minus 100K). If the file is below this amount, reconnect and start downloading again.

  2. If you are having problems, and you think that you have completed the setup, check that there are 15 DLL files in the Plugin folder of your Internet Browser:

    lfbmp11n.dll
    LFCMP11n.DLL
    lftga11n.dll
    library.dll
    LTDIS11n.dll
    ltefx11n.dll
    ltfil11n.DLL
    ltimg11n.dll
    ltkrn11n.dll
    NPAPP.dll
    NPLCSI32.dll
    NPRes.dll
    Paint.dll
    sprites.dll
    zlib.dll

You may not see these files: set the File type options setting for view to All Files and then check again.

If you have all the files and the Web Player is still not functioning, contact us at the technical support e-mail address below.

  3. Once you are viewing projects in our Projects Library, the following problem may occur:

There has been an error in transmission while downloading a sample project. The project does not run properly. You may be missing sounds. To solve this problem, go back to the page that linked to that project. In Internet Explorer, go to Internet Options and delete the Temporary Internet files. In Netscape, go to Preferences, choose Cache and clear memory cache and disk cache. Now choose the project again.

  4. To check the version of the Web Player, click on the MicroWorlds project with the right mouse button. To update your plug-in version, download and install the current version from our Web site. We will be regularly updating the Web Player.

  5. While viewing a project in the Web, you may perceive that your shapes are not correct. Check the version as in point 4, probably you may need to download the latest version.

  6. If you downloaded a project form the web you may have different shapes when you open it with MicroWorlds 2.0 (than those shapes that you saw while viewing it with the web player). This happens because you are loading a MicroWorlds Pro project. Contact us at info@lcsi.ca for information about trade ups.
