LCSI ANNOUNCES THE AVAILABILITY OF MICROWORLDS PRO

MONTREAL - Logo Computer Systems Inc. (LCSI) today announced the release of its latest member of the award-winning MicroWorlds family - MicroWorlds Pro. Using this powerful multimedia authoring tool, students can create dynamic, interactive school and Internet projects.

Designed for an older audience (Junior/Senior high school students, university students and professors) or advanced MicroWorlds users, MicroWorlds Pro allows users to develop more sophisticated projects than with MicroWorlds.

MicroWorlds Pro includes web authoring tools that allow you to create HTML templates for your interactive projects to be displayed directly on the WWW; add hyperlink connections to the WWW; download and modify existing math, science etc. projects from the LCSI web site (www.lcsi.ca).

Students can make easy animations with just one simple click and make use of the hundreds of multi-colored shapes and the fat bits editor to grow and shrink shapes. Students can drag and drop music, pictures, videos, web pages, sounds, and shapes into their MicroWorlds Pro projects. Drawing tools include 140 colors to choose from, 24 editable brushes, color viewer and picker, and color shading.

MicroWorlds Pro is compatible with your Microsoft products allowing you to use Word’s spell checker and Excel’s charting power.

Furthermore, MicroWorlds Pro users will have access to a project's global information, which will provide a greater clarity and control over objects, processes and variables. Also included are interactive samples within the on-line help system so that learning MicroWorlds Pro is so much easier.

“We’re really excited about MicroWorlds Pro. Teachers and students can use MicroWorlds Pro to enhance their understanding of MicroWorlds and to get a real sense of the depth and breadth of this powerful multimedia programming environment” said Michael A. Quinn, President of LCSI.

The system requirements are a Pentium processor or higher; Windows 95 or higher; 16 MB RAM; CD ROM drive; high color - 16 bit; 800 X 600 resolution; and a sound card. The design team is looking into the possibility of making a Macintosh version.
