JOURNAL ZONET FROM LCSI IS NOW AVAILABLE!

MONTREAL - Logo Computer Systems Inc. (LCSI), today announced the availability of Journal ZoneT, its first online tool for reflective collaboration. This new innovation from LCSI represents a breakthrough in educational computing.

Journal ZoneT is predominantly a "journal" that supports reflective learning within a social context. It can be used within a classroom or the user can join other classrooms from around the world. As a classroom tool, Journal ZoneT integrates three common practices of exemplary teaching -journal writing, collaboration, and scaffolding.

Journal ZoneT is a cross-curricular tool designed for grades 3 and up. It can be used in all subjects of the curriculum. As a collaborative journal, Journal ZoneT, allows students to keep track of their thoughts and plans, discuss their project investigations and make dynamic online presentations. The product works well either in a lab or within classroom based computers. Journal Zone is available in English, French and Spanish.

The software is comprised of a graphics, journal text and comments area. In the graphics area, students can present their ideas visually, using objects, backgrounds and animation. However, in the journal text area, the owner of the page enters text. This text may be plans, reflections or the project information itself. The comments area allows students to comment on journal entries of others or even respond to someone else's comments.
